Planes of Heaven

A ground-breaking exhibition concentrating on Ian Stephenson's large works from the late 1960s and early 70s. Viewed from a distance, these grand paintings made from tiny drops of paint appear vast and diffuse; there is a sense of endlessness on the largest scale, although experienced intimately, as in a lyric mode.

Guided Tours

Led by our expert staff, our tours run for two hours and cover the sculpture, exhibitions and architecture of the New Art Centre — a journey through Modern British art from the fifties to the present day, with highlights of the collection such as Anthony Caro, Richard Long and Peter Randall-Page.

Tours are bespoke to each group, so booking in advance is essential. There is a minimum charge of eight people.
